Dr. Tabasom Vahidi

B.A. in Psychology, M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology

Dr. Vahidi, a licensed Psychologist in California, possesses a comprehensive educational background and substantial training in Clinical Psychology. Her academic journey includes earning a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the California Graduate Institute, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Actively engaged in her professional community, Dr. Vahidi is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA), the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA). Dr. Vahidi has also co-presented at both the IOCDF and ADAA conferences alongside the renowned Dr. Jonathan Grayson.

Specializing as a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist, Dr. Vahidi possesses extensive expertise in various treatment modalities, including Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy for OCD and Related Disorders. She is committed to tailoring personalized treatment plans for each patient, aligning them with individual goals and preferences while using evidence-based practices to ensure optimal outcomes.

She has also received extensive training for several years at an Intensive Outpatient Program called the Westwood Institute for Anxiety Disorders, treating complex cases of OCD and Related Disorders using a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.

Dr. Vahidi was also a research assistant at USC for a couple of years, helping assess and evaluate subjects for a genetic study on OCD and related disorders, including Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Hoarding, Trichotillomania, and Dermatillomania. Studies have shown that genes can contribute to the development of these disorders.  This ongoing research aims to identify these genes, which can pave the way for better treatments to be developed.
